Just Desserts by Jekeitta is a family owned business founded by Jekeitta Powell her sons Christopher and Howard and husband George. Jekeitta's passion for baking was born from helping her mom in the kitchen as a young girl. Baking cakes for friends and family was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding joys for her and with the encouragement from those friends she started Just Desserts out of her home in October of 1996. It was soon realized that a retail location was necessary and opened their first store in August of 2001. Located in Wilmington, DE they service not only DE but MD, PA, and NJ.
Just Desserts is well known for its outstanding homemade desserts as well as custom cakes for any occassion. Customers favorites include Coconut cake with pinapple filling and delicous cream cheese frosting, sweet potato and carrot cakes, banana pudding, peach cobbler and sweet potato pie to name a few! Just Desserts has won numerous awards including 1st place at the Atlantic City Bakery Expo in the category of extreme wedding cakes for a 5ft. Lighthouse cake, and 3 consecutive years taking 1st place in the annual Gentlemen's Cookoff sponsored by The Coalition of 100 Black Women.
